News4Clues - What started it all?

Genealogy is a passion of mine, it has been for over 30 years. So I subscribed to Newspapers.com, and did a bit of research on my family, and I was hooked.

So I started collecting links to newspaper sites offering images of newspapers, then kept doing it for years. I got a lot of titles of newspapers stored in Microsoft Excel.

Then I got thinking about locations where I had ancestors, and said to myself, I wonder if there are other close by newspapers that had stories about my people? So I started associating latitude and longitude coordinates to the newspapers and putting them on a map.

Fast forward to today and I have mapped almost 100,000 titles. Thinking this might be helpful to other genealogists and researchers, I created News4Clues as a way to share this information.
